Josie Henry is a Navy veteran, community leader, and public servant running to represent Grand Isle County and West Milton in the Vermont House of Representatives. She is guided by a simple belief: public service should be rooted in listening, hard work, and a deep respect for the people and communities you serve.

Josie grew up in a small rural town in northwest Iowa, where she learned the values that continue to guide her today: responsibility, service, resilience, and care for one’s neighbors. After studying Political Science and Economics in college, she began a nearly 20-year career as a United States Navy Intelligence Officer. During her service, she was named the Navy’s Junior Intelligence Officer of the Year and later completed legislative affairs fellowships on Capitol Hill and in the White House.

After retiring from the Navy in 2019, Josie made her home in Alburgh, Vermont, the hometown of her husband, Andrew. Andrew is one of six brothers raised on the Henry family dairy farm and now works in large agricultural equipment sales and consulting. Together, Josie and Andrew are proud to call Grand Isle County home.

Since settling in Vermont, Josie has continued her commitment to service close to home. She has served as Chair of the Alburgh Planning Commission, Chair of the Alburgh Selectboard, and as a Grand Isle County Assistant Judge. In each role, she has worked to strengthen local government, support responsible growth, and stand up for taxpayers and working families.

Josie is running for the Vermont House to bring experienced, commonsense leadership to Montpelier. She believes Vermonters deserve a government that respects their hard-earned tax dollars, supports local communities, protects Vermont’s rural character, and helps create opportunities for the next generation.

As a veteran, local leader, and neighbor, Josie is ready to serve the people of Grand Isle County and West Milton with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to getting things done.
